South Aus­tralians head­ing out­doors as the weath­er turns cold­er are remind­ed not to pick and eat wild mushrooms. 

Rangers from the Nation­al Parks and Wildlife Ser­vice South Aus­tralia (NPWSSA) have noticed an increase in South Aus­tralians vis­it­ing their local parks dur­ing the COVID-19 pandemic.

Par­ents keen to keep their fam­i­ly busy, pro­duc­tive and con­nect­ed with nature dur­ing the coro­n­avirus pan­dem­ic can now access a new Junior Ranger activ­i­ty from the Nation­al Parks and Wildlife Ser­vice South Australia.

Boat­ies are remind­ed that the annu­al clo­sure of con­ser­va­tion zones in the Great Aus­tralian Bight Marine Park (Com­mon­wealth) and Far West Coast Marine Park (State) will begin in May mark­ing the start of the whale season.

Envi­ron­men­tal recov­ery after the summer’s bush­fires has been giv­en a boost with the appoint­ment of mem­bers for the Wildlife and Habi­tat Bush­fire Recov­ery Taskforce.
