Record num­bers of vis­i­tors have flocked to Flinders Chase Nation­al Park on Kan­ga­roo Island since it reopened after the summer’s dev­as­tat­ing bushfires.

Whale-watch­ers are remind­ed to keep their dis­tance from whales dur­ing their breed­ing sea­son, with about half-a-dozen south­ern right whales recent­ly spot­ted off the low­er Eyre Penin­su­la coast. 

South Australia’s icon­ic nature-based tourism sec­tor will get a much-need­ed boost – with works start­ing on the $10 mil­lion Remark­able South­ern Flinders Ranges project which will help fast-track the state’s eco­nom­ic recov­ery after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Park vis­i­tors are asked to stay away from a dead whale washed up on Sev­en Mile Beach in Cof­fin Bay Nation­al Park. 

The Ade­laide Botan­ic Gar­den will light up for one night only at the end of the month for ​‘Bien­ni­al After Dark’, the first event on the garden’s cal­en­dar since COVID-19 restric­tions have eased.
