South Aus­tralian tourism icon, Cle­land Wildlife Park, reached an impor­tant envi­ron­men­tal sus­tain­abil­i­ty mile­stone this month, achiev­ing zero waste to land­fill for the first time.

Eli­gi­ble lease­hold­ers (or nom­i­nees) for shacks on Crown lands are cur­rent­ly invit­ed to apply for longer tenure as part of the government’s Retain­ing Shacks program. 

One of Adelaide’s pre­mier walk­ing trails is now safer to use and will be bet­ter pro­tect­ed from extreme weath­er events thanks to a recent­ly com­plet­ed $5 mil­lion restora­tion and upgrade. 

More than 8500 plants will veg­e­tate new­ly restored dunes at Sem­a­phore South as part of a project to rebuild the area, which was bad­ly dam­aged dur­ing a storm in 2016.

Glen­thorne Nation­al Park-Itya­mai­it­pin­na Yarta, Adelaide’s sec­ond met­ro­pol­i­tan nation­al park, has opened its gates to the public.
