South Australia’s whale watch­ing sea­son has offi­cial­ly com­menced with the first sight­ing of a hump­back whale report­ed in Fleurieu Penin­su­la waters last week.

An addi­tion­al eight hectares of land has been added to Scott Creek Con­ser­va­tion Park, near Claren­don in the Ade­laide Hills.

Com­mu­ni­ty engage­ment to cre­ate a shared tourism vision and pri­or­i­ties for vis­i­tor expe­ri­ences in Gran­ite Island Recre­ation Park is now underway.

Hik­ers are set to ben­e­fit from the pro­posed devel­op­ment of low-impact, walk-in camp­sites at Deep Creek Con­ser­va­tion Park and New­land Head Con­ser­va­tion Park on the Fleurieu Peninsula.

One of South Australia’s most icon­ic tourism des­ti­na­tions at Wilpe­na Pound in the Flinders Ranges will under­go a $3 mil­lion trans­for­ma­tion and take on new man­age­ment to improve the vis­i­tor expe­ri­ence, increase patron­age and in turn cre­ate local jobs for the region.
