If you’ve dreamed of see­ing whales at the Head of the Bight, now is the time to plan your epic road trip, with Nation­al Parks and Wildlife Ser­vice (NPWS) cel­e­brat­ing Eyre and Far West nation­al parks as their Parks of the Month in July.

With hun­dreds of whales set to call South Aus­tralian waters home this win­ter, an expert marine team has been brush­ing up on their res­cue skills in prepa­ra­tion for the win­ter migration.

Fol­low­ing the suc­cess­ful res­cue of Port Riv­er dol­phin ​‘Doc’ to remove hooks and fish­ing line entan­gle­ments last week, Nation­al Parks and Wildlife Ser­vice (NPWS) are remind­ing peo­ple not to feed wild dol­phins as it can have dead­ly effects.

Work is under­way to give nation­al park vis­i­tors eas­i­er access to some of Adelaide’s pop­u­lar sites as part of the state government’s invest­ment in parks across South Australia. 

South Australia’s nation­al parks are expe­ri­enc­ing record lev­els of pop­u­lar­i­ty as we head into school hol­i­days next weekend.
