The Ade­laide Hills are set to become home to a new world-class nature-based expe­ri­ence with plans unveiled today for a $10 mil­lion wilder­ness retreat to be nes­tled among the trees with­in Cle­land Wildlife Park.

South Aus­tralia is now home to Australia’s largest nation­al park as well as four oth­er new nation­al parks, with today’s offi­cial procla­ma­tion of Munga-Thirri – Simp­son Desert Nation­al Park, Wap­ma Thu­ra — South­ern Flinders Ranges Nation­al Park, Lake Frome Nation­al Park and the upgrade of Cle­land and Deep Creek to nation­al parks.

Vis­i­tors will soon get extra oppor­tu­ni­ties to moun­tain bike through some of Cud­lee Creek’s most chal­leng­ing ter­rain, expe­ri­ence upgrad­ed accom­mo­da­tion in Belair and wake up in the beau­ti­ful Lime­stone Cost region at South Australia’s newest glamp­ing site.

Gran­ite Island Recre­ation Park will be closed at night for the 21^st con­sec­u­tive year through­out Schoolies Week between 19 to 21 November.

New spe­cial­ty tours, pop-up and sea­son­al expe­ri­ences and events could be set to grace icon­ic South Aus­tralian tourism places thanks to a new $550,000 round in a State Gov­ern­ment grant fund­ing to acti­vate nature and her­itage-based tourism initiatives.
