A new draft man­age­ment plan for the Parks of West­ern and Cen­tral Kan­ga­roo Island has just been released for the com­mu­ni­ty to share their views on the future man­age­ment of these icon­ic parks.

The results of the first aer­i­al sur­vey of the pro­tect­ed Cape Bar­ren Goose in 20 years has returned dis­ap­point­ing results for the rare bird. 

The South Aus­tralian Gov­ern­ment is look­ing to explore part­ner­ship oppor­tu­ni­ties with new organ­i­sa­tions to max­imise vis­i­tor and research offer­ings at the new $10 mil­lion West­ern Kan­ga­roo Island Parks Vis­i­tor Hub on Kan­ga­roo Island, with a Reg­is­tra­tion of Inter­est (ROI) oppor­tu­ni­ty now open.

Right now is the per­fect time to head to Yorke Penin­su­la with the arrival of spring in Dhil­ba Guu­ran­da-Innes Nation­al Park, bring­ing with it a spec­tac­u­lar dis­play of wildflowers.

Con­struc­tion is under­way at South Australia’s newest nation­al park, to cre­ate a spec­tac­u­lar new $3.3 mil­lion fos­sil expe­ri­ence in the north­ern Flinders Ranges.
