New Fleurieu Penin­su­la nation­al park proclaimed

A new­ly pro­claimed nation­al park on the Fleurieu Penin­su­la will ensure threat­ened native ani­mals and plant species will be pro­tect­ed for years to come — as well as pro­vid­ing new trails for moun­tain bik­ers and hikers.


Akur­ra Adnya (Arka­roo Rock) reopens with a wel­com­ing new entry

As part of the South Aus­tralian Government’s Parks 2025 com­mit­ment to improve its nature-based tourism offer­ing, stage 1 of upgrades to vis­i­tor facil­i­ties at Akur­ra Adnya (Arka­roo Rock) in the Ikara-Flinders Ranges Nation­al Park has been completed.


Improve­ments to the Brachi­na Gorge Geo­log­i­cal Trail are on the way

Con­cept plan­ning has been com­plet­ed to guide upgrades for key nodes along the 20 km self-dri­ve Brachi­na Gorge Geo­log­i­cal Trail. 


Com­mu­ni­ty is dri­ving World Her­itage for the Flinders Ranges

Pro­gress­ing World Her­itage for the Flinders Ranges is well under­way with sup­port of a Com­mu­ni­ty Ref­er­ence Group who is cham­pi­oning the bid at a local level. 


Access to pho­to­graph the most famous tree in the Flinders Ranges com­ing soon

Tor­ren­tial storms rav­aged the Flinders Ranges over the Aus­tralia Day long week­end ear­li­er this year. In par­tic­u­lar, the bridge that pro­vides access to pho­to­graph the famous Cazneaux Tree was dam­aged from flood water.
