East­ern Brachi­na Gorge Road gate­way to be upgraded

A more impact­ful east­ern gate­way entry/​exit will be cre­at­ed for the Brachi­na Gorge Geo­log­i­cal Trail.

New vis­i­tor access to the Gold­en Spike

Known to be the only Edi­acaran Glob­al Stra­to­type Sec­tion and Point (GSSP) in the south­ern hemi­sphere — the Gold­en Spike site will be cel­e­brat­ed with the intro­duc­tion of new trail access and a view­ing platform.

Changes to native veg­e­ta­tion reg­u­la­tions which exempt­ed pri­vate devel­op­ments over $1 mil­lion in Flinders Chase Nation­al Park from nor­mal approval process­es have offi­cial­ly been repealed by the State Government.

NPWS to employ 15 new Abo­rig­i­nal rangers to pro­tect SA parks and wildlife

Fif­teen new Abo­rig­i­nal rangers will be employed to work in nation­al parks across South Aus­tralia as part of a $5 mil­lion State Bud­get ini­tia­tive aimed at increas­ing Abo­rig­i­nal man­age­ment of our nat­ur­al environment.
