South Australia’s local envi­ron­men­tal heroes will be recog­nised on World Envi­ron­ment Day on 5 June 2023 through the annu­al SA Envi­ron­ment Awards.

Peo­ple steal­ing fire­wood from native for­est reserves and con­ser­va­tion parks in the South-East will be tar­get­ed by the Nation­al Parks and Wildlife Ser­vice this autumn after an increase in ille­gal fire­wood removal.

Locat­ed with­in 45 min­utes of the city cen­tre, the Para Wirra Con­ser­va­tion Park is per­fect for immers­ing your­self in nature. 

Nilpe­na Edi­acara Nation­al Park — the inter­na­tion­al­ly-sig­nif­i­cant fos­sil site dat­ing back to the dawn of ani­mal life on Earth – will offi­cial­ly open today.

Nation­al parks will form the back­drop of new learn­ing des­ti­na­tions to pro­vide stu­dents greater edu­ca­tion­al oppor­tu­ni­ties in nature.
