Nation­al Parks and Wildlife Ser­vice (NPWS) has suc­cess­ful­ly com­plet­ed its annu­al pre­scribed burn pro­grams, with 90 burns con­duct­ed across the state in the past 12 months.

A total of 42 pre­scribed burns are pro­posed as part of the Nation­al Parks and Wildlife Service’s (NPWS) autumn 2024 fire man­age­ment program.

Tar­get­ed oper­a­tions, anony­mous tip-offs and infor­ma­tion gath­er­ing are among new ini­tia­tives as part of a state gov­ern­ment crack­down on envi­ron­men­tal criminals.

Nation­al Parks and Wildlife Ser­vice has com­plet­ed more than three quar­ters of its pre­scribed burns pro­gram dur­ing a sea­son ham­pered by unfavourable conditions.

A total of 51 pre­scribed burns are planned as part of Nation­al Parks and Wildlife Service’s (NPWS) autumn 2023 fire man­age­ment pro­gram, which is antic­i­pat­ed to start in the next fortnight.
